How long have you worked at UK Tickets? I began freelancing in August 2009. What is your role? I’m the Web Editor so I write new content, increase our online profile and keep things up-to-date across our portfolio of websites. What experience do you bring to the UK Tickets team? I have always been interested in theatre production and have backstage experience, including Stage Managing a number of amateur shows, so I appreciate just how hard everyone has to work to put on a performance each night. I have an economics degree so I’m quite analytical with an eye for detail, including an encyclopaedic memory for West End facts and stats matched only by my knowledge of football trivia! Do you have a top ticket buying tip to share? If you can be flexible in your booking, I’d certainly recommend looking out for cheap matinee tickets. What is your favourite musical or play? War Horse at the New London Theatre. A bit sentimental but brilliantly staged and thoroughly gripping. I can't wait to see what Steven Spielberg does with the film. Is there a show you would like to see return to the West End? West Side Story - I’ve never seen it but I know it’s one of the greats. What is your most memorable theatre experience? Definitely the time I spent working as a member of stage crew on The Producers at the West Yorkshire Playhouse. Great cast, hilarious show and a fantastic experience at a huge venue. Who are your top actors or actresses? Mark Rylance gave an incredible performance in Jerusalem. I also thought that Ramin Karimloo was excellent as "The Phantom" in Love Never Dies. |
