Musicals (In Show Order)
Billy Elliot – Victoria Palace Theatre
• Guide Dogs permitted-staff can dog sit • Wheelchair access is via the second EXIT in Allington Street to the West or left of the theatre. There are two spaces for wheelchairs with seating for companions in the same row. The theatre is licensed for six wheelchairs; four transferring and two remaining in the chair • There is an adapted toilet just inside to Allington Street entrance • There is an infra-red system with loop and conventional type headsets. • Access to Grand Circle is not suitable for patrons with walking disabilities • There is a 3cm step up from the street to the main foyer, Staircases have hand rails on both sides. There are also 4 steps down from the foyer to the stalls, 28 steps up from the foyer to the Dress Circle.
Blood Brothers - Phoenix Theatre
• Guide dogs welcome but not permitted inside the auditorium; staff are available to look after dogs • Sennheiser infra-red systems available • Please ask a member of staff to open the side entrance on Flitcroft Street • Space for 1 wheelchair patron and companion in Box C • Adapted WC behind Box C in the Dress Circle
Chicago - Garrick Theatre
• Guide dogs are NOT allowed into the auditorium but staff are available to dog-sit • Infra-red system with 8 head-sets • An usher is available to escort wheelchair users to the left of the building to an alternative entrance which leads to the Dress Circle • Transfer seating available to aisle seats for wheelchairs and scooters • Adapted toilets planned • 2 steps up into the Box Office, 29 steps down to the stalls, 25 steps up then 8 down to the Upper Circle
Dreamboats and Petticoats – Playhouse Theatre
• Guide dogs allowed into the auditorium and staff available to dog-sit • Infra-red induction loop at Box Office. 16 head-sets and 4 loops • A ramp can be placed over the three shallow steps inside the main entrance-the Box Office must be contacted in advance. • No steps to stalls. 29 steps to the Royal Circle, 88 steps to the Upper Circle. 2 spaces for wheelchair users and 2 for their companions • Scooter users can access foyer and stalls • Adapted toilets to the right of the stalls entrance
Ghost – Piccadilly Theatre
• Theatre staff available to look after up to 3 guide dogs per performance • Infra-red system in the auditorium and induction loop at Box Office • Disabled access via side entrance in Sherwood Street into a Box which has space for 2 wheelchair users and companions, space available for 4 wheelchairs • Scooter users allowed in the venue • Adapted WC available • No steps to Royal Circle from Sherwood Street entrance, Stalls down 15 steps, Royal Circle up 28 steps, Grand Circle up 70 steps
Jersey Boys – Prince Edward Theatre
• Up to 2 Guide dogs allowed inside the auditorium, staff can dog sit • Infra-red system with 40 headsets available • Entrance to auditorium through a double EXIT door opening on Greek Street • Spaces for 2 wheelchair patrons and companions in Box 1 • Venue suitable for scooter transfers only • Theatre can store 2 wheelchairs and 2 scooter per performance • Adapted WC on right hand side of foyer • There are 13 steps up to the Dress Circle from the foyer, 22 steps down to the Stalls, 41 to the front of the Grand Circle and 72 to the back
Les Miserables – Queens Theatre
• Guide dogs are allowed in boxes or can be looked after by staff • Infra-red system with head-sets, avoid front of stalls • A maximum of 2 wheelchairs per performance in Dress Circle, transfer seating also available in the Dress Circle • Adapted toilet in foyer corridor • 20 steps down from foyer to stalls, 18 steps up to Dress Circle, 40 steps up to the Upper Circle
Lion King – Lyceum Theatre
• Guide dogs allowed into auditorium by prior arrangement • Infra-red loop system available, head-sets available with a returnable deposit. Reception best in Royal circle. Induction loop at Box Office • Entrance is through a sign-posted double EXIT door to the left hand side as you face the theatre • 8 available spaces for wheelchair users in row P in the stalls • Scooter/wheelchair transfer spaces to aisle seats in the stalls. Transfer seating also available to any aisle seat by prior arrangement • Toilets on each level • Main entrance is up 3 steps to the lower foyer, 32 steps up to the Royal Circle, Grand Circle entrance on Wellington Street up 85 steps • Lift available but not suitable for wheelchair users
Mamma Mia! - Novello Theatre (from 6th Sept 2012) • Guide dogs allowed into the auditorium • Infra-red system in the auditorium, loop being reinstated into the Box Office • Separate access for wheelchair users off Catherine Street. Venue not suitable for scooters, Transfer seats are available at A23 and A24 in the Dress Circle. • Toilets available on all levels
Mamma Mia! – Prince of Wales Theatre
• Guide dogs permitted into auditorium and staff can dog-sit • Hearing impaired infra-red system in the auditorium and induction loop at Box Office • Wheelchair spaces available and scooter transfer spaces to designated aisle seats in the Stalls with spaces for companions • Adapted toilets off the stalls • 26 steps down to the stalls, 22 steps up to the Dress Circle. • Lift available
Matilda - Cambridge Theatre
• Guide Dogs are permitted • Infra-red headsets available • A limited number of wheelchairs can be accommodated, accompanied by a helper • Access to Stalls is through a double EXIT door on Earlham Street, with a slight slope down into the Stalls • Level access into Foyer, 5 steps down from foyer to Stalls, 31 steps up to the Dress Circle, 64 steps up to the Upper Circle • One adapted WC
The Phantom of the Opera – Her Majesty’s Theatre
• Guide dogs are not allowed into the auditorium, but can be looked after by staff • Infra-red system with 11 head-sets and 10 neckloops. Induction loop at Box Office • Second side EXIT door on Charles 11 Street, accessible by staff. 4 spaces available for wheelchair users. Transfer seating available to any aisle seat in the stalls • Adapted toilet on the left inside the entrance on Charles 11 Street • Stalls are 18 steps down from the foyer, Royal Circle up 32, Grand Circle up 62 and Balcony up 89
Rock of Ages - Shaftesbury Theatre
• Guide dogs permitted into the auditorium • Infra-red system with 20 headsets and 15 neckloops • Spaces for 4 wheelchairs in Boxes A and B • Adapted WC at the Royal Circle level • Entrance to Royal circle level is through the foyer, Stalls are down 22 steps, Grand Circle up 60+ steps
Shrek the Musical – Theatre Royal Drury Lane
• Guide dogs are not allowed into the auditorium but staff can dog-sit • Infra-red system with 10 head-sets, available from the Duty Manager. Induction loop at Box Office • Entrance to theatre is through a sign posted door on Russell Street which leads into the left of the stalls • 4 spaces for wheelchair users and companions, transfer seating to aisle seats • Adapted toilet to the left inside Russell Street entrance • 6 steps up to the front entrance, 20 steps down then 17 up to the stalls, 39 to the Dress Circle and 61 to the Upper Circle
Singin' in the Rain – Palace Theatre
• Guide dogs allowed inside the auditorium and staff can dog-sit • Infra-red system with 6 head-sets and induction loop all available at Box Office • No steps to the Auditorium through a side EXIT on Shaftesbury Avenue • 1 space available for wheelchair user and companion with transfer seating to any stalls aisle seat • Adapted toilet by wheelchair users entrance • Box Office with lowered counter, 3 steps down from the foyer to the stalls, 30 steps up to the Dress Circle, 56 to the Upper Circle, 77 to the Balcony
Stomp – Ambassadors Theatre
• Guide dogs allowed into the auditorium, please ask for an aisle seat or row F in the Circle, Guide dogs can be looked after by staff • Infra-red system in auditorium. Induction loop at Box Office • No spaces available for wheelchair users, transfer seating for two people is possible to row F in the Circle • No adapted toilet • 26 steps down to the stalls, 5 steps up to the Dress Circle
Sweeney Todd - Adelphi Theatre
• Guide dogs are NOT permitted into the auditorium but staff can look after up to 2 dogs • Infra-red system available with 7 head-sets to collect from the Box Office with a deposit • 2 spaces for wheelchair users at the back of the stalls, transfer seats available to any stalls aisle seats. 6 wheelchair users per performance • Adapted toilet by the entrance to the stalls • Main entrance has one step, no step to stalls, 41 steps to the Dress Circle, 79 to the Upper Circle
Thriller – Lyric Theatre
• Guide dogs are allowed in boxes-one per box, but not in the auditorium. Staff available to dog-sit • Entrance is through the left hand double EXIT door as you face the theatre. Each box can accommodate one wheelchair user and their companion. Transfer seating available to the Dress Circle • Venue suitable for scooters • Adapted toilet on the left inside the Royal entrance • 18 steps down to the stalls, Dress circle level from foyer, 25 steps up to the Upper Circle, 45 to Balcony
Top Hat - Aldwych Theatre • One Guide Dog allowed per performance in Box D • Infra-red system in the auditorium with 5 headsets and 5 neckloops • Dress Circle and Boxes are the most easily accessible areas • Seats J 1-5, J 19-23, C 1, C 21 have the most leg room • Entrance to auditorium is through a double EXIT door on Drury Lane • Theatre can accommodate up to 4 wheelchair patrons; two in Box D and one either end of row C in the Dress Circle
We Will Rock You – Dominion Theatre
• Guide dogs are allowed into the auditorium, staff can dog sit • Platform lift down 10 steps, transfer seating available to any aisle seat. Motorised wheelchairs can go in Box B, entrance to side of theatre on Bainbridge street • Adapted toilet towards front left of stalls • 10 steps down to the stalls, 32 steps up to the circle from foyer
Wicked – Apollo Victoria Theatre
• 4 guide dogs allowed inside auditorium, aisle seats are best • Induction loop and infra-red system in the auditorium • 4 steps up to the main entrance on Wilton Road, Second main entrance in Vauxhall Bridge Road via a platform lift. • Stalls down 29 steps from foyer, 13 steps up to Dress Circle • Adapted toilet off the foyer • 4 spaces for wheelchair users on either side of the Dress Circle, 2 scooters and 4 wheelchair transfer seats available in row F of the Dress Circle
The Wizard of Oz – The London Palladium
• Guide dogs are not allowed into the auditorium but staff can dog-sit • Infra-red system with 30 head-sets available. Induction loop at Box Office • Alternative entrance off Ramillies Place at the back of the theatre. 4 spaces for wheelchair users. Transfer seating available to aisle seats • Adapted toilet on the right inside Ramillies Place entrance • Stalls down 12 steps from the main entrance, Upper Circle approx up 50 steps
