How long have you worked at UK Tickets?
Since October 2008.
What is your role?
Marketing Assistant.
What experience do you bring to the UK Tickets team?
Theatre has always been something I have enjoyed, whether reading the latest stage news or watching current productions. Being a member of my local amateur dramatics society has also improved my knowledge of the theatre world, something which makes my job slightly easier over all. Attending about two shows a month in the West End keeps me up to date first hand on the latest shows. Having studied a degree in Tourism and Management, which included a number of core marketing modules, I have learnt valuable skills not only on the subject matter but on working in teams, dealing with other companies and a general understanding of the work place.
Do you have a top ticket buying tip to share?
If you decide to call our dedicated sales team, listen to their advice. The majority of staff have seen a lot of the current shows and can offer good advice on seats, as opposed to looking at a seating plan which never truly reflects the quality of the seat.
What is your favourite musical or play?
Priscilla Queen of the Desert. This is one production that cannot fail to make you smile and lift you up if you are feeling a little down. The show is funny, outrageous and has an amazing soundtrack that will have you on your feet by the end.
Is there a show you would like to see return to the West End?
Hello Dolly! This is my all time favourite musical which has a delightful storyline, great comical timing and an amazing score that composers can’t match today. I did manage to see the production a few summers ago at the Open Air Theatre and it just blew me away.
What is your most memorable theatre experience?
Probably seeing Hello Dolly at the Open Air Theatre. The venue in itself is amazing, you can take your own picnic and we were there on a cloudless warm summer evening which made the whole experience truly magical. The show was thoroughly enjoyable start to finish.
Who are your top actors or actresses?
Angela Lansbury – a true professional.
