How long have you worked at UK Tickets? Since July 2008! Time flies when... What is your role? I manage the Online Marketing activities, which includes advertisement on Search Engines such as Google and Yahoo! as well as external websites. What experience do you bring to the UK Tickets team? I first started working with the company selling tickets in our Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus Outlets, so I’ve got to know our customers and the factors that are most important to them when booking tickets to see a show. These are mainly the price of the tickets and the quality of the view from the seat, but also that we can offer good advice – such as on what show to choose or how best to get to the venue and we do it with a smile! Do you have a top ticket buying tip to share? If you’re looking for a bargain and aren’t set on seeing a particular show, just ask us about the deals we have available - the Show of the Month is always a cracker! If it’s a special occasion, choose the best seats you can afford – it’s definitely worth it! What is your favourite musical or play? The Lion King, without a doubt! It’s magical on stage. Is there a show you would like to see return to the West End? Rent. I’ve seen the film and absolutely love the songs, so it would be great to see it on a West End stage. What is your most memorable theatre experience? It was the first time I saw The Lion King - seeing the ‘animals’ come into the audience from the back of the theatre and make their way to the stage was brilliant. I hadn’t really seen or read much about the show beforehand, and so it was really unexpected – in a good way! Who are your top actors or actresses? Sheridan Smith has wowed me twice now – as the golden-hearted Elle Woods in Legally Blonde and as the chirpy but gutsy Countess Doris Skriczevinsky in Flare Path. They’re very different roles but she just shone through in both! Brown Lindiwe Mkhize, who plays Rafiki in The Lion King, is a favourite. She makes you laugh but also has an incredibly breath-taking voice! |
