Dress code

Is it acceptable to wear a vest to a west end show, particularly those in theatres without airconditioning when its really hot and sweaty?

I'm not sure but I know you cannot be shirtless as I saw a man be asked to leave in We Will Rock You because he wouldn't but it back on!
