Old Marley was as dead as a doornail and Ebenezer Scrooge was as cold and hard as flint. On Christmas Eve, seven years after the death of his business partner, Jacob Marley, the spirit of the season has left the old miser as cold as the winter weather. Sitting at home that night, Scrooge feels an overwhelming sense of foreboding. At last a shape moves out of the gloom - a ghostly apparition of Jacob who urges him to change his ways or face even greater misery in the afterlife. Simon Callow stars in this fantastic one-man show at the Arts Theatre.
