The Ballet Boyz came together when Michael Nunn and William Trevitt (both former dances with The Royal Ballet) held a unique audition process for both male dancers and for choreographers, with over 160 of the latter producing work in the hope of being involved with this exciting company. The Talent is a mixed programme of three adrenaline fuelled and attention-grabbing works. Paul Roberts’ Alpha catches the emotion of introspective songs by Keaton Henson. Russell Maliphant’s Torsion is an ensemble piece of machinelike grace inspired by the electronic score of Richard English. Jarek Cemerek’s Void builds a dramatic atmosphere as young men take to the mean streets in a dark world reminiscent of West Side Story.
