I know this play very well on paper and know the film well, but had never seen a live production until now. And what a fantastic version it was. If you're ever going to see one of Tennesse Williams' best plays, this is the time and the one to see. The performances were staggeringly good - details, filled with comedy, nuance and detail that has rolling in the aisle with laughter one moment and moved and heartbroken in the next. The director has created a refreshing, thought provoking, highly entertaining and intelligent version with an inspiring cast and it's definitely one not to miss. It is quite long for a play but has an interval andanother short break. You really feel like you're getting your monies worth though and every act is brilliantly paced. If you like good theatre or Tennesse Williams, orthe lovely Adrian Lester (Hustle) or the awe inspiring James Earl Jones (voice of Darth Vadar amd Mufasa) then this really is an absolute must.
