The Havana-based dance company Danza Contemporanea de Cuba returns to London with an exciting triple bill which includes another chance to see George Céspedes’ Mambo 3XXI, the stand-out hit of company’s 2010 UK tour. The piece begins with a troupe of dancers in strict formation, obediently performing their movements in unison. Slowly they loosen up into ecstatic bursts of salsa and jive as the seductive beat of the Latin music becomes too strong to resist. The programme also features a world premiere by the renowned choreographer Itzik Galili. The Dutch-based Israeli has more than 60 choreographic works to his name and has created for international companies including Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, Nederlands Dans Theater 2 and Stuttgart Ballet.
