Jodie Prenger debuts in Les Mis

I’d Do Anything winner Jodie Prenger is clearly keen to impress for when she hits the stage as the star of Oliver! at Drury Lane in December. After enrolling in a Shakespeare summer school at London’s prestigious RADA, Jodie is now stepping into another Cameron Mackintosh production, Les Misérables at the Queens Theatre in order to put her newly honed talents to the test.

Jodie was one of the least experienced of auditionees during the BBC’s talent search earlier this month, and she is certainly the least experienced amongst her predecessors; The Sound of Music’s Connie Fisher trained at drama school and Joseph’s Lee Mead was a professional actor with West End Experience prior to taking part in Any Dream Will Do last year. Her participation in Les Mis should give Jodie the greatest range of different experiences possible in a short period, as she performs a number of small roles as part of the show’s massive ensemble. The epic adaptation of Victor Hugo’s novel is the longest running musical production in West End history.

There is no schedule for Jodie’s performances in Les Mis, but she will be appearing for roughly four weeks, beginning tonight (26th August).
