About The Norman Conquests
Reg and his wife Sarah have arrived at Reg’s invalid mother’s house to give Reg’s sister Annie the weekend off. However, Annie stays and their brother in law Norman turns up, followed by his wife, Reg and Annie’s sister Ruth. Annie has her sights set on Mum’s dim-witted neighbour Tom, while lover of life Norman’s intentions are laid bare for all to see.
Living Together sees the six come and go in the living room. Norman’s attempts to bring a little happiness to his wife Ruth and his sister in law Annie bring his affairs of the heart to light, especially when he ends up making a pass at Sarah.
The Norman Conquests is a series of three interconnecting plays (Living Together, Round and Round the Garden and Table Manners) by Alan Ayckbourn which can be seen in any order, or each can be enjoyed without the others as the events of each happen simultaneously. The six well-rounded and funny characters are present and equal in the whole series, with each play centred around a different area of Mum’s house.
The star studded cast includes Ben Miles, Jessica Hynes, Stephen Mangan and Amelia Bullmore.
