Shrek The Musical at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane

A Monster Tale With Kimberley Walsh and Richard Blackwood!

In a faraway kingdom, a swamp-dwelling ogre named Shrek (Nigel Lindsay), embarks on a life-changing adventure in order to reclaim the deed to his land that is being withheld by the short-legged and short-tempered Lord Farquaad (Nigel Harman). Shrek is joined on his journey by a wise-cracking donkey (Richard Blackwood) who will not stop talking. Our unlikely hero fights a fearsome dragon, rescues the feisty Princess Fiona (Kimberley Walsh) and learns that real friendship and true love aren’t only found in fairy tales.

Shrek the musical is based on the story and characters from William Steig’s book Shrek! and the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animation film. The show features all new songs as well as the classic cult anthem 'I’m a Believer'. The show played on Broadway from December 2008 to January 2010 and was nominated for eight Tony Awards. The show is currently embarking on a tour of 60 cities across the United States.

Shrek the Musical at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane

As shown in the seating plan below the Theatre Royal Drury Lane is a large venue spread over four levels: Stalls, Grand Circle, Upper Circle and Balcony. Towards the rear of the Stalls pillars supporting the Grand Circle may affect sightlines from seats on or around the centre aisles (rows Z and ZZ).  Towards the rear of the Upper Circle pillars again restrict views from the aisle seats (rows K and L). The handful of slip seats at the front of the Upper Circle suffer from sideline views. The Balcony offers a birds-eye view of the action, though the view from the front two rows is affected by a handrail (rows A and B), which can be overcome by leaning forward.  There are three levels of boxes available, located between the Grand Circle and Upper Circle. All boxes have sidelined views. For those with limited mobility, row K and C1, C29, D1 & D33 in the Stalls have the most leg room.
