Singin' in the Rain at the Palace Theatre, London
Making a Splash at the Palace
Singin’ in the Rain is a musical based on the 1952 MGM movie that starred Gene Kelly, Donald O’Connor, Jean Hagen and Debbie Reynolds. The story is set in Hollywood at the end of the silent film era. Don Lockwood is a movie star with the world at his feet and a beautiful leading lady, Lina Lamont, at his side. However, when their latest big picture, The Duelling Cavalier, is turned into a talkie, it soon becomes clear that Lina’s grating voice and oversize ego are going to cause problems that will require more than a few singing lessons to solve! Former Royal Ballet dancer Adam Cooper (Swan Lake) stars as 'Don Lockwood'. The cast also includes Scarlett Strallen (Mary Poppins) as 'Kathy Seldon', Daniel Crossley (Hello Dolly!) as 'Cosmo Brown' and Katherine Kingsley (Aspects of Love) as 'Lina Lamont'.
*There will be an extra matinee performance of Singin' in the Rain on Friday 8th June at 2.30pm.
