Founded in 1991, the family run Big Bus Company’s burgundy and cream buses have been a part of the London landscape for over seventeen years. The company began with two buses and their exceptional customer service and in depth local knowledge allowed Big Bus to expand, now operating a fleet of over eighty buses in London alone.
Big Bus has won the three prestigious titles at the Visit London Awards three times and was shortlisted for Best Tourism Experience at the event in 2007, due to the level of service offered by the company. As well as three different routes to choose from, live English commentary and recording commentaries in eight languages, the price of a ticket also includes a Thames river cruise and access to three excellent walking tours: the Royal Walk which takes in the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, the Big Bus Beatles Walk and the Ghosts by Gaslight Tour. Big Bus runs on a hop-on-hop-off system, so their tickets give customers unlimited access to travel on Big Bus buses for 24 hours.
The success and popularity of Big Bus has enabled them to expand internationally, now running fleets in America, Dubai, Hong Kong and the USA.
Former London Big Bus tour guides have included Coronation Street actress Jenny Platt and wife of actor Sean Bean Georgina Sutcliffe.
Please note: First buses depart at 08:30 in the morning. Last bus times vary depending on the time of year. They are usually 16:30 in January, February, November and December, 17:00 in March and October, 18:00 April to September.
