The lion king was amazing!! The singing was incredible, the whole performance was completely captivating and I would love to go and see it again!

We enjoyed the show and the music. Our seats were in the Grand Circle and we could see the stage well, however the show has a number of effects in it that really do need you to be sitting in the stalls in order to get the full effect, for example, the stampede. We felt that we could see too much of the workings as we were looking down at the stage and this took away a little of the enjoyment.

I was really excited to watch the show after seeing the trailer. I booked myself on-line and wanted to book for the next show even if I haven't seen it yet. Last nite, I had a great time watching it. Can't help to applause every after each scene. The man beside me with his daughter and wife giggled and whistled loudy. WHEW!
While on the bus, I rang my friends to bring their family to Lyceum. Can't wait return to watch it again. HAKUNA MATATA! I forgot all my worries.

It's an amazing show, and so beautiful! I got goose bumps when the animals and singers walked down the aisle in the auditorium. The set and puppets are amazing, and the music is great. I recommend it to everyone - it's a beautiful experience.

I loved the music and the costumes; this show has a great visual effect which is arrived at by a set that does not look like the most expensive in the West End. It’s basically all very simple but incredible effective. The animals are incredible particularly the Giraffe's. This must have been a revolution when it 1st came out.This is a great show for the family and kids but bear in mind it is 3 hours long and your child may get restless.

Amazing, best show I have seen.

The costumes were fantastic!! Out of this world. Once you were connected with the characters you didn’t notice the person operating the animals walking/flying around the stage. Great comedy moments from Zazu, Timon and Pumba. Also brilliant parts from the Hyenas.
The heard of Wildebeast swooping the plain affect was fantastic. Rafiki was one of my favourites!! Her voice made me shiver. Her character was hilarious. Her song in her native song was incredible and something very special to hear.I though that the young Simba was not as impressive as the young Nala. Definitely one for young families. Although it’s a long performance and maybe not suited for children who cant sit still for long periods of time.Seats in the stalls are not tiered and so I would recommend sitting at the front of the Grand Circle instead of back of the Stalls.

When the lights go down and the famous 'Circle of Life' begins, every child in the audience is gripped to the African landscape bought to life in Covent Garden. From the amazing costumes to the spectacular set design, the show is a definite asset to the West End.

The production is the film put on stage, with every song we know and love, with a few new songs to tickle our taste buds. The costumes, set and puppetry is without doubt the selling point for the show, from the moment the show opens with animals walking down the aisle your breath is taken away. The second act I feel was a lot better, and really grabbed my attention.

Lion King was a colorful and spectacular show! I loved the music and the costumes were vivid. After a while you could no longer see the people moving in the costumes but the animals itself - as if the stage had come alive. Recommended for families!

10th Anniversary performance: This was undoubtedly the best performance I have ever seen and the best show in the West End by far! We felt like royalty as we walked up the ‘yellow’ carpet to the Theatre, hobnobbing with the stars! This was the tenth Anniversary of the Lion King in London and the performance certainly didn’t disappoint. The cast were outstanding; an effortless performance was made by everyone. There were cast present in the audience, old and new and you could certainly tell who they were, giving a cheer after every actor came on to the stage. The atmosphere was incredible and really felt like the magic of Disney was captured throughout the whole auditorium.Fantastic costumes are used in this production to create life-like animals and the music, written by Elton John and Tim Rice is based on the 1994 animated Disney film. This production also uses the talents of African dance, sounds and rhythms to create a unique and distinctive sound. Fantastic, set, costumes, musical score and classic Disney story which will appeal to all types of audiences.
This show has always been my favourite and after this incredible once-in-a-lifetime performance it will remain so for a very long time.

Too many lions for my liking. I thought it wasabout an Austrian family of singer who were on the run from the Nazis?? Anyway, didn't enjoy, completely off topi. Unless the lions were a metaphor for an Austrian family on the run from the Nazis which would make it a perfect ensemble

Love the music but it became somewhat lost at times as we were sitting at the back of the stalls under the balcony and I think this dampened the accoustics. Not great seats as the stage was 50% obscured by the person in front! However, would highly recommend the show!

I thought the show was great! I was itting right at the back in the grand circle (last row actually) but the show looked so amazing even from there. I could see everything very clearly and the sound was amazing. Really worth the time and money!!!! Just make sure that you get there for the beginning because the opening sequence is fabulous and it would be a real shame to miss it (plus it's annoying when people arrive late and block your vision as the shuffle to their seats!!!!!!)

I went with my husband and my parents and we absolutely loved it. The costumes were amazing, the music was great (we were humming back to the tube!) and the story was really well told. Tips: get an aisle seat in the stalls to watch the 'animals' pass you.

I was disappointed. My seat was £50 but directly behind someone else [not staggered] so I couldn't see anything centre stage without bobbing and weaving, irritating whoever was behind me. I thought the actor playing the very young Simba [1/3/09] was very poor and couldn't sing in tune! The stampede scene felt amateurish in the extreme, cringeworthy.

I was a little worried about the seating as we got the very back row on the grand circle at lyceum theatre but because of the layout and seating structure of the theatre it was fine with no obstructions at all. would definatly recommend it to anyone and it's definatly well worth going at caters for all audiences. well worth the money.

Probably a good idea to be aware of Disney's film, as my other half found it difficult to keep up, and I had to explain to him wha was happening during the interval. He still enjoyed, but got a bit lost during the first half.
We had the cheapest tickets, right at the back row of the Grand Circle and still had a great view! I'm glad we didn't pay for the very expensive tickets as our seats were great!

I took my 8 year old son and we both thought the show was fantastic, the singing, the costumes were clever and made the show come alive.

I took my boyfriend to see the Lion King after having seen it myself about 5 years ago. I had forgotten how amazing it is!! He absolutely loved it too and we were hooked all the way through. The scenery and costumes seem so simple but at the same time are a stroke of genius. The mix between new ideas and ideas from the Disney film are balanced really well and I fail to see how anyone could fail to marvel at the spectacle. We loved every minute and were singing all the way home!

The show was a bit like a sugar high - it started out with a rousing overture: great costumes, fantastic music and then the high point: the birth of Simba. Unfortunately, after a great start the show peters out pretty quickly. One sees precious little of the great costumes (the giraffes only show up one more time in an interlude and then again at the end, the elephant never to be seen again) and the songs are more forgettable than memorable. It would be a good show to see if you have kids. If you do not and are not a huge fan of animated film, this show will probably disappoint as it really is just that - a musical rehash of the movie.

The show was fantastic live and all the props and performances was excellent. However, I thought it was worthy of being on a bigger stage and would recommend this if at all possible!

A good show, wonderful costumes but a little disappointed with the 'sing a long' music. I was ready to sing the big tunes but the opportunity wasn't there. I will watch the film again and recommend the show for families.

I judge all shows on the basis of if I would go to see it again. I wouldn't go to Lion King again. I think it is just a little OTT on the African singing/dancing for my taste.

We weere sitting at the back of the stalls and I believe that if you were sitting in the circle you may have had a better view.

Had a seat in the very back row of the highest balcony, and the view was still very good, though the back row does have slightly less legroom than the rest of the seating.

First half was a little slow. Second half saw show come to life. more humour in this half also,.

This was my first musical and it was spectacular, could have made a better choice. The musical was fantastic and the combination of the décor, podium settings and costumes was spectacular. Very talented singers.

Lion King has been on for so long and now we know why. It is a truly beautiful and imaginative production.

This was the best of all the musicals we have seen.Just amazing to see how it could be put on stage.

Everybody had told us how good this was and we were not dissapointed. Would love to see it again. My 9 year old has not stopped talking about it.

Wonderful costumes- additional music fits fantastically with the Disney film music, and some of the effects are brilliant!

In many ways this show, like the film, is really directed at children. The second half has more appeal for adult viewers however. I enjoyed it but certainly won't be rushing off to watch it again in a few years. A double visit. My first and my last.

I would recommend tickets towards the middle rather than on the sides. I sat Grand circle half way-up and near the middle which had a great view.

The beginning was a bit protracted , but as the story gathered pace , it became really interesting.The witch was exceptional- eg vocal and overall performance.The show really kicked in with the appearance of Timone and Pumba.

Lion King is an excellent classic for the whole famiily, I went wth my teenage son and we both loved it. We were in the grand circle in the cheapest seats, but this didn't spoil any of the special effects and as the characters are larger than life it ddn't matter one bit!

I booked a cheap ticket (£20) and was allocated seat L5. Bit worried that I might not get a good view but these fears vanished as soon as I found my seat. I had a good view of the stage while sitting comfortably.

The show was fantastic from beginning to end. Did not realise from reading reviews how funny the show was. Can not name one favourite character as there was so many, every one of them brilliant

'The Lion King' is a magical experience for anyone of any age. I can't begin to express how inventive and exciting the costumes are! If you have children-sit in the stalls!!!

Absolutely incredible. I took my 21 year old boyfriend for his birthday and definitely enjoyed it just as much as the 5 year old girl sitting next to us! If you want a special experience, get an aisle seat in the stalls, we were luckily enough put there thanks to uk tickets, but definitely made our night! xxx

This was a Christmas gift to my family and friends, of mixed ages (12, 20's, 30's and 60's) and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the performance for a variety reasons. One to watch!

As a newbie to the theater and only have seen lion king on dvd a week before, i loved it every minute off it. From the venue to the staff and the huge awesome production. The actual lion king show was breathtaking and was memorized from the first scene till the end. Brilliant production and brilliant cast made this a one unforgettable show that i will always remember and mite even see it again. Worth every penny and a must see. I can say this was my first but def not last time ill be visiting a theater because off Lion King.

Great Visual treat and changes on stage layout for the story and costumes are magnificent. First 10 minutes are really something then the story gets a little weak but picks up after the interval. The Meercat and Warthog with Simba are a treat to watch

The opening scene to The Lion King sets the atmosphere for the show. You need to be in the front stalls to get the full feeling of the effects. The actors and Characters were perfect, professional and give value for money. The bar service cannot be faulted due to their speed and efficiency serving so many customers in a short space of time at the interval.

Excellent dancing and music - weak storyline

Great show. Costumes and production were fantastic. Sound production not so good and we both could not hear all the spoken dialogue Particularly Simba - both young and adult characters.

the cast were excellent and the singing was amazing you had lots of colour and from the very time you sit down you are glued too it i would go and see lion king again a must see show

Excellent, really professional. The costumes and scenery were amazing and with the animals going up and down the aisles you really felt a part of the show. Great for my niece and she is still singing hakuna matata a week later.
