Classic chiller, now in its 23rd terrifying year
About The Woman In Black
Originally opening at Scarborough’s Theatre By The Sea in 1987, The Woman In Black has been unanimously well received since its very beginning.
The play was adapted from Susan Hill’s 1983 horror novel by Stephen Mallatratt, known for his screen work on television series such as Island At War and Coronation Street.
Slightly revised, the story of solicitor Arthur Kipps’ time at Eel Marsh House and the bizarre and frightening events that followed the funeral of a lonely old woman opened at the West End’s Fortune Theatre in June 1989 and is now in its twentieth terrifying year.
