Top Hat at the Aldwych Theatre, London
Let’s Face the Music & Dance
Summer Strallen stars opposite Holby City heartthrob and Strictly Come Dancing winner Tom Chambers in this stage adaptation of the hit motion picture Top Hat. The original film was one of the most successful musical comedies of the 1930s. It was nominated for four Academy Awards and is regarded by many as the finest movie ever made by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Tap dancer and showman Jerry Travers arrives in London to star in a new show produced by the bumbling Horace Hardwick. After meeting the ravishing society model Dale Tremont, Travers finds himself caught up in a lively romantic adventure that takes him all over Europe in an attempt to impress her. Irving Berlin’s unforgettable score includes the songs: Cheek to Cheek, Let’s Face the Music & Dance, Isn’t It a Lovely Day to Be Caught in the Rain and Top Hat, White Tie & Tails.
