I thought this show was superb! What a way to spend a night out! The acting is fantastic and the minimalist set works so well! Having had horses all of my life I can honestly say they have captured every little characteristic with amazing detail; from the flick of the ears to the behaviour when meeting other horses. You completely forgot you were watching puppets and drawn into the story with complete conviction. There were a couple of features I would slightly critisise however- in some points I found the music very obtrusive and not always working well with the story and a few of the other props/puppets, such as the hand-held boats, were bordering on silly. However, I can honestly say this is an amazing show that is not to be missed.

This is one of the best things I've seen in a long time. It would impossible to see this show and not fall in love with theatre for the rest of your life. The story is brilliant and one that everyone should hear and have told to them.

The puppets are the highlight "incredibly well made and realistic but creative and unlike anything you've ever seen. It is moving, funny and awe inspiringly creative...you get the idea" just go see it.

It's a little too traumatic for anyone under 8/9 years old I'd say but if they have read the children's book then they'll know what to expect and there's far worse stuff on the TV.

The puppets are a creation unlike anything else. There are similarities to Lion King's I suppose but these are on a different level. It is a show that is deserving of it's hit status...and guess what? there's NO ONE "famous" in it! Finally!

Leave plenty of time to get to the theatre as it is a little walk from Covent Garden. Also, the foyer gets very crowded so pick up tickets in advance or best of all get them sent to you. And also, there are some lovely restaurants nearby so book a meal deal.

Such a beautiful show. A moving story, amazing puppetry and great actors. I highly recommend it to everyone, and bring tissues!

It was absolutely superb, one of the best stagings I have seen in all of the seven years I have attended West End shows. Joey, the War horse, is fantastic and the backdrop of the First World War is so atmospheric and believable. A MUST SEE !

Where do I start? ABSOLUTLEY LOVED IT! Having not seen many plays I wasn’t sure what to expect, but War Horse blew me away. Although the running time was 2hrs 40mins, I was gripped throughout! The story in itself is wonderful and you really warm to all characters especially Albert the young boy and the German solider. So if the story wasn’t enough to melt your heart then the puppet horses were incredible. It’s indescribable how realistic the horses are, the three people that operate each horse were far beyond talented. The horse moved exactly like a real horse and although there are three people working it you forget in two minutes they were there. The simple set and scenery did not matter as you believe you were in the field with the horse galloping or in the awful war situation in the trenches. AMAZING PLAY!!!

Absolutely stunning. Absolutely everything about it is just ingenious... the direction, design and performances are dramatic and engrossing and the puppetry was just mindblowing. Although the puppeteers are visible throughout, you forget they're there and you really believe that you're watching real animals. I urge anyone to see this play.
