IDA's Rachel lands a Meaty role

I’d Do Anything’s Rachel Tucker has been lined up to play one of the West End’s best loved characters, We Will Rock You’s feisty rebel Meat.

Belfast girl Rachel was the ninth Nancy to be voted off the show by the public, narrowly losing a place in the final to Samantha. Rachel, 26, is a seasoned musical theatre performer having worked extensively at the Belfast’s Lyric theatre and has appeared in a number of touring productions in the UK, including Tommy alongside fellow reality TV star Lee Mead. She has appeared in the West end in Rod Stewart’s Tonight’s The Night at the Victoria Palace in 2003.

The role of Meat was originated by West End favourite Kerry Ellis who has built up an immense cult following playing Elphaba in Wicked at the Apollo Victoria, a role she is currently playing in the Broadway production of Wicked. Rachel will take over the role of Meat from Lucy Sinclair on 22 September.
