The Wizard of Oz Tickets

The Wizard of Oz at The London Palladium

Starring Danielle Hope and Michael Crawford

From 21st February 2012 Tuesday performances of The Wizard Of Oz will start at 7:30pm.

The Wizard of Oz tells the story of a Kansas farm girl - Dorothy Gale - who finds herself in the Land of Oz after a sudden tornado sweeps up her home. After meeting Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, Dorothy learns that in order to get home she must travel along the yellow brick road to the Emerald City to find the help of the mysterious Wizard. On her travels she makes three unlikely friends - a Scarecrow, a Tin Man and a cowardly Lion. The only thing that stands in their way is the Wicked Witch of the West, who is desperate to have Dorothy’s magical ruby slippers. The story was made famous by the 1939 film starring Judy Garland - based on the original work by author L. Frank Baum.

The classic tale comes to the West End as a new full length musical, with the legendary Andrew Lloyd Webber having composed new additional songs for the show to enhance EY Harburg and Harold Arlen’s famous score, which includes such classics as ‘We’re Off to See the Wizard’ and the Oscar winning ‘Over the Rainbow’.

This new musical is connected with the BBC reality TV show ‘Over The Rainbow’, which spent the summer of 2010 searching for a Dorothy to star in the show. 18 year old Danielle Hope won the contest. She will appear opposite West End veteran Michael Crawford (The Phantom of the Opera) who takes the role of 'The Wizard'.

*Danielle Hope shall play Dorothy on Sunday shows. Sophie Evans shall play Dorothy on Tuesday shows. Both Danielle Hope and Michael Crawford will perform in the production until Sunday 5th February 2012.

** Sophie Evans and Russell Grant will perform eight performances per week. Sophie will play Dorothy on a full-time basis from Tuesday 7th February 2012. Russell’s first performance as 'The Wizard' will be Tuesday 14th February 2012. Both are confirmed to play these roles until Sunday 13th May 2012.

The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium

As shown in the seating plan below, the London Palladium is spread over three levels: Stalls, Royal Circle and Upper Circle. The Stalls offer excellent unobstructed views all the way across, however the six rows to the rear suffer from an overhang restriction from the Royal Circle above (rows T to XX). In rows T and U this restriction is minimal. The Royal Circle offers fantastic, clear views throughout. The Seats in the Upper Circle are high and set back from the stage. The view from the front two rows is slightly affected by a handrail (rows A and B). The last two rows do feel ‘up in the Gods’, but views are unobstructed (rows L and M).
