| London’s third annual Wicked day on Sunday 26 October promises to be its happiest yet. Wicked Day is a family fun day held in the run up to Halloween in every city where Wicked is playing and is an opportunity to celebrate everything Wicked and help out a local cause too. London’s Wicked Day 2008 in aid of Thrive arrives as the show celebrates its enormous success at home and away. |
So the thousands of fans packing off to Wicked Day all around the world next Sunday really have something to celebrate. Events in London include face painting (green, of course), games and a number of competitions, and this year Covent Garden’s famous Dress Circle shop is getting involved, giving away free copies of original Elphaba Idina Menzel’s single Brave to those dressed as their favourite character from the show and offering 10% discount on its Wicked memorabilia. Fans can also meet members of the cast, who will be on hand to sign autographs and judge competitions. Last year, London’s Wicked Day saw almost a thousand fans filter into Victoria’s Cardinal Place and this year, the event at the Royal Horticultural Halls in Vincent Square promises to be even bigger. As Wicked London enters its third year in triumph, Broadway hits its landmark fifth anniversary and the success of Wicked rockets worldwide Wicked Day 2008 certainly won’t be the last. |
