Kendra Kassebaum... Popular in London?

As UK Tickets reported last week, rumours have already started concerning the impending cast overhaul Wicked will undergo in May 2009, with the US tour’s Elphaba Carmen Cusack believed to be reprising her role this side of the Atlantic. Now it has been suggested that Kendra Kassebaum will be flying over to play Glinda opposite her.

Kendra was the US tour’s original Glinda when it began in March 2005. Leaving the tour in September 2006, she became Glinda once again on Broadway four months later, storring opposite Julia Murney until October 2007. In May this year, Kendra began her second stint in New York, alongside Kerry Ellis as Elphaba, and both actresses made their last appearances in the Broadway production this weekend. Kendra’s theatre credits also include Assassins and Rent on Broadway, US tours of Grease and A Chorus Line as well as a number of regional productions.

While Kerry Ellis is set to return to the London cast in December, no official announcements have been made regarding Kendra’s plans. However, Carmen Cusack is leaving the US tour this week, so could she and Kendra be flying over to London together? Watch this space to find out.

Wicked is currently booking until 28 September 2009 and you can get your tickets here.
