Star Wars takes to the stage

Posted by Kelly on Friday 12th December 2008 at 2:16PM

The music of the seminal series of Star Wars films is to be reworked into a live music spectacular. George Lucas has masterminded the show and composer John Williams is reported to have painstakingly rewritten six films’ worth of music to fit it into a two hour concert. Rather than actors performing the roles of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Obi-Wan, Darth Vader and the rest of the gang, the 86 piece Royal Philharmonic orchestra will be joined by live narrators.

The show is scheduled to premiere at the O2 Arena in April 2009, and will be accompanied by an exhibition featuring costumes, props, models and artwork from the six movies.
