| This week, the London production of Wicked welcomed its 2 millionth ticket buyer. Louisa Robb, from Newark, was surprised by producers when they upgraded her to the best seats in the house and gave her VIP treatment, including a meet and greet with the cast afterwards. This marks another milestone for Wicked as it keeps flying high in the West End after almost three years. Last year, its ticket sales broke records and last week, the Apollo Victoria saw an unprecedented frenzy as leading lady Kerry Ellis took to the western sky for the last time. Also this week, Wicked saw a number of new faces through its stage door in its second major cast change. As well as some new ensemble members, the cast now includes The Royal’s Natalie Anderson as Nessarose, Alex Jessop as Boq, ‘Allo ‘Allo star Sam Kelly as the Wizard and Alexia Khadime (left) as Elphaba, returning after her six month run last year. On Monday night, the new cast enjoyed a great turn out of eager Wicked fans and despite Sam Kelly’s nerves, the entire cast gave killer performances, with Alexia Khadime’s impassioned rendition of No Good Deed bringing the house down. |
| Being only their first night, UK Tickets believes that this week is only a taster of what’s yet to come from what looks like another strong and solid cast. Wicked has achieved a great deal during its time in London, and there is definitely more to come. Wicked is now booking until April 2010 andyou can grab your tickets here. | |
