WICKED Casts Spell Into Fourth Year

Posted by Ben on Wednesday 9th September 2009 at 9:14AM

September 27th sees WICKED enter its fourth year at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. With booking extended to 30 October 2010 the family musical has become a West End Phenomenon. Earlier this year it reached 1,000 performances and 2009 is expected to be the show’s highest grossing year in the West End so far.

Executive Producer Michael McCabe commented “It's a remarkable achievement, especially in this financial climate, and we are all greatly indebted to the cast, company, orchestra and crew who work so brilliantly and tirelessly to deliver audiences such a superb experience every night”

The Wizard of Oz prequel, based on the hit novel by Gregory Maguire, tells the story of the unlikely friendship between two young sorcery students who, after some extraordinary adventures in Oz, go on to become ‘Glinda the Good’ Witch and Elphaba the ‘Wicked Witch of the West’.

Starring Alexia Khadime as Elphabe and Dianne Pilkington as Glinda, the award winning production has already grossed over £80 million at the UK Box Office and booking has again been extended for this spectacular show.
