Cast Change

Alexia Khadime, who currently plays Elphaba in the hit musical, is putting down her broom on the 27th March, along with long standing Dianne Pilkington, currently playing good witch Glinda.

Rachel Tucker, who appeared on the BBC series I’d Do Anything and starred as Meat in We Will Rock You at the Dominion, will take the lead role as Elphaba along with Louise Dearman as Glinda from March 29, 2010. Dearman, who is currently playing Cinderella in Milton Keynes, has played the leads in UK tours of Evita, Guys And Dolls and Jekyll And Hyde. Additional cast changes will be announced shortly.

The Success

Wicked has been performing at the Apollo Victoria theatre since 2006 and has established itself as one of the most popular in the West End, seen by more than 2.5 million theatergoers and grossing over £90 million at the box office since opening in the West End. Last year the show won the London Award for 'Best Family Fun' and was short-listed for 'Best West End Show' by theatregoers themselves.

The Show

Wicked tells the unknown history of the Wicked Witch of the West, turning convention on its head by revealing that perhaps she wasn’t so bad after all. Set mainly before the arrival of Dorothy, Wicked is a brilliant revisionist look at the wonderful world of Oz. The musical is based on the novel ‘Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West’ by Gregory McGuire.
