The Lion King, one of the top selling shows in the West End, celebrated its 10th Birthday yesterday with a star studded gala performance. |

The gala performance was attended by the creators of the show and a host of celebrities.

History
The Lion king has delighted young and old for over a decade at the Lyceum theatre in London’s West End. The show which is based on the Oscar-winning Disney film has played more than 4,200 performances to more than 8 million people.

Story
| The Lion King tells the story of a little lion cub Simba who is tricked by his evil uncle Scar that he has killed his father, who just happens to be the king. Simba runs away, meeting many memorable characters along the way. Simba soon learns that running from your problems is not the answer, when is past quickly catches up with him. The show features songs by Elton John and Tim Rice’s that appeared in the original animated film. |
