Claire Sweeney Will Join Legally Blonde Tour

Claire Sweeney will join the touring cast of Legally Blonde the Musical in September, taking over the role of “Paulette” from ex-Atomic Kitten star Liz McClarnon. The actress, singer and Loose Women presenter has returned to musical theatre this year. She is currently starring as “The Girl” in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tell Me On a Sunday. The show, now on UK tour, follows the romantic misadventures of a young English woman in New York. It features several memorable songs, including "Take That Look Off Your Face", "Unexpected Song" and the title tune "Tell Me on a Sunday". |

She has released an album, a fitness DVD and made several panellist appearances on ITV’s Loose Women. Her West End stage credits include Chicago and Guys and Dolls. | |
Brilliantly Funny Show’s First UK TourLegally Blonde the Musical is embarking on its first ever UK Tour this summer. Performances began last week at the Liverpool Empire Theatre. Based on the 2001 film that starred Reese Witherspoon as homecoming queen “Elle Woods”, this brilliantly funny and uplifting show sees a bubbly college girl follow her boyfriend across the country to Harvard Law School after he cruelly dumps her for a more serious future. Faye Brooks is the College SweetheartFaye Brooks (Grease in the West End) stars as “Elle”, Liz McClarnon plays the role of “Paulette”, Neil Toon (Les Misérables in the West End) is the callous “Warner Huntington III”, Iwan Lewis (Fame in the West End, Passion at the Donmar Warehouse) is handsome attorney “Emmett” and Dave Willetts (Les Misérables, Phantom of The Opera, Sunset Boulevard West End) plays Professor Callaghan. Liz McClarnon will play the role of Paulette until 17th September 2011. Claire Sweeney will take over the role from 19th September to 03rd December 2011. |
