Connie returns to The Sound of Music

Connie Fisher is to reprise her role postulant/governess/vocal coach Maria von Trapp in Andrew Lloyd Webber and David Ian’s production of The Sound of Music when it embarks on its UK tour next year.

Connie, who won the role through the BBC’s original West End talent search, How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? In 2006 and was replaced in early 2008 by Hollyoaks’ Summer Strallen. Since leaving the show, Connie has recorded an album, performed in a number of concerts and starred in ITV drama Caught in a Trap to be screened early in the New Year. She also co-starred with Alistair McGowan in the Menier Chocolate Factory’s recent revival of the Neil Simon musical They’re Playing Our Song this summer.

The Sound of Music’s UK tour will begin in Cardiff in July. The smash hit show is booking at the London Palladium until March 2009 and you can get your tickets here.
