Posted by Joseph on Friday 23rd April 2010 at 3:48PM

Ex-Bill star Ben Richards will join the cast of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert from 1 June 2010.

Ben Richards

Richards, best known from The Bill and Footballer’s Wives, will take over from Jason Donovan in the role of Tick. As well as successful TV roles, Richards has played many leading roles in musical theatre, including Guys and Dolls, Grease, Saturday Night Fever and The Full Monty.

He will join current new cast member Don Gallagher (Bernadette), Oliver Thornton (Adam), and John Bowe (Bob). The show, which has extended until May 2011, has had a very successful first year at the Palace Theatre, winning a Whatsonstage and Olivier award.

The Show

The West End has never seen so much glitter, wigs, high heels and lipstick until Priscilla Queen Of The Desert arrived Spring 2009.

Based on the Oscar winning film of the same name, the show tells the heart-warming and uplifting story of Mitzi, Bernadette and Felicia, a glamorous Sydney based performing trio who agree to take their show to the middle of the Australian outback.

The three friends set off in a battered old bus, Priscilla, in search of love and adventure, but end up finding more than they could ever have dreamed. Full of outrageous comedy, outfits and fun, this is one show that will have you dancing in the aisles to no less than 25 Disco Classics.
