Dancing on Ice Champ Joins Rock N’ Roll Show

Dancing On Ice champion Sam Attwater will join the cast of the hit rock n’ roll musical Dreamboats and Petticoats at the Playhouse Theatre later this month. The ex-EastEnder will play the leading role of aspiring songwriter and loveable rogue Norman, currently played by Ben Freeman, from Monday 18th July 2011. Attwater joins a talented young cast that includes former Hollyoaks star Jennifer Biddall and X-Factor contestant Scott Bruton. |
The Hit Jukebox MusicalDreamboats and Petticoats is the hit jukebox musical inspired by the best-selling album that brought together some of the biggest songs from the 1950s and 60s and sold over two million copies. The show has an original story written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the men behind such celebrated comedies as Goodnight Sweetheart and Birds of a Feather. After training at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, Sam Attwater went on to appear in several musicals, including Tonight's the Night, 12 Tenors, 20th Century Boy, and Our Benny. In early 2010 he joined the cast of EastEnders as Leon Small, an aspiring boxer who turns up in Albert Square looking for a place to stay. He made his last appearance in September 2010, after which he competed in the sixth series of Dancing on Ice – winning the competition in March 2011 with his professional figure skating partner Brianne Delcourt. His debut album, Breaking Boundaries, was released in January 2011. |
