Acting legends Danny DeVito and Richard Griffiths will appear in a new production of Neil Simon's comedy The Sunshine Boys according to gossip in the Daily Mail. The play tells the story of an aging comedy duo, Al Lewis and Willy Clark, who have grown to despise each other after their forty-year partnership ends in acrimony. When a TV network invites them to reunite for a one-off special, the two men struggle to put aside their differences with Clark in particular refusing to forgive Lewis for retiring and breaking up the act. The original Broadway production opened in 1972 and ran for over 530 performances. It became an Academy Award-winning film in 1975, starring Walter Matthau and George Burns.
