Dreamboats and Petticoats Seeks a New Hitmaker

Dreamboats and Petticoats is on the search for a new hitmaker with the launch of a competition that mirrors the storyline of the hit jukebox musical itself! Veteran songwriters Neil Sedaka, Don Black and Graham Gouldman will judge the contest, with the winning song destined to feature in the West End show as well as on a new compilation CD and will be published by Universal Music at the end of the year. |

In a career spanning more than 50 years, Neil Sedaka is best known for recording hits such as Stairway to Heaven and Calendar Girl. Graham Gouldman has written hits for bands including 10CC, Busted and The Yardbirds; whilst Don Black has written lyrics for stars including Michael Jackson. Graham Gouldman said: "This is a great opportunity for us to see what talent is out there and I was drawn to this competition as it's all about rock 'n' roll, which is where I started my career all those years ago." Entrants should be aged 18 yrs and over and can submit an MP3 demo via the Dreamboats & Petticoats Facebook page. The competition closes at 9am on 31st March 2011. |
