The Story of a Noble CauseCalendar Girls continues to break box office records at the Noel Coward Theatre. Adapted by writer Tim Firth from his 2003 screenplay the show tells the true story of the Women’s Institute members who, in the wake of tragedy, made a charity calendar with a difference. To-date the Calendar Girls have raised over £1.5 million for Leukaemia Research and had their story re-enacted on both stage and screen. Described as ‘A very British story with a very British heart’ Calendar Girls continues to donate the booking fee on each ticket sold to Leukaemia Research, together with a percentage of merchandise sales and royalties. | |||
