Horne collapses on stage during Sloane

Posted by Jack on Friday 3rd April 2009 at 9:35AM

Last night, Gavin and Stacey star Mathew Horne collapsed on stage during a performance of Entertaining Mr Sloane. After an extended interval, the cast took to the stage for the second act over fifteen minutes later than planned, suggesting problems backstage. Horne, with his back to the audience, collapsed during a scene with Simon Paisley Day, who called for any doctors in the audience. Paramedics arrived and treated Horne on the stage. Imelda Staunton appeared on the stage to address the audience and let them know that their tickets would be refunded. The show continued, however, with Fergus March taking Horne’s place as Mr Sloane.

Doctors have suggested that Horne is suffering from mild exhaustion. This is unsurprising considering his hectic work schedule recently that has included endless promotion for his Horne and Corden TV sketch show, his movie Lesbian Vampire Killers and, of course, starring as Mr Sloane eight times a week. Fergus March is expected to play the role tonight and tomorrow as Horne recuperates at home.

Please not that tickets for tonight and tomorrow will not be refunded whether or not Mathew Horne appears.
