Hustle star Marc Warren will return to the West End in a new stage adaptation of Cool Hand Luke, based on the novel by Donn Pearce and the famous 1967 Paul Newman movie.

The show, which has been created for the stage by Emma Reeves, will open at the Aldwych Theatre on 03rd Oct 2011, following previews from 23rd September.

From Con-Artist to Convict

Marc Warren is well known for his role as “Danny Blue” in the BBC TV Series Hustle. His other TV credits include Doctor Who, Life on Mars and the Sky drama thriller Mad Dogs. On stage, he played “Ray Say” in a West End revival of The Rise and Fall of Little Voice at the Vaudeville Theatre alongside Leslie Sharp and newcomer Diana Vickers.

The Man Who Won’t Be Broken

Directed by Andrew Loudon (Little Women, Anne of Green Gables and Carrie’s War) Cool Hand Luke is the raw, uncompromising tale of a Second World War veteran who is sent to prison for a drunken misdemeanour and toughs it out despite the best efforts of the guards and fellow prisoners to break his spirit. Marc Warren is the man who always plays it cool in the role made famous on screen by the late Paul Newman
