Julie Atherton Brings Concert to the Apollo Theatre

West End star Julie Atherton, perhaps best known for playing the roles of “Kate Monster” and “Lucy the Slut” in Avenue Q, brings her No Space for Air live show to the Apollo Theatre this weekend for a one-off performance on Sunday 26th June 2011. Atherton will be accompanied by several familiar faces, including Daniel Boys, Richard Fleeshman and Jon Lee, plus Emmy Award winning composer Lance Horne and British composer Michael Bruce. |
Avenue Q Girl’s Second AlbumAtherton released her debut album, A Girl of Few Words, in October 2006, just a few months after joining the first London cast of Avenue Q which opened at the Noel Coward Theatre following huge success on Broadway. She left the popular production in December 2007, only to return again in 2008 after the show had transferred to the Gielgud Theatre. Her other stage credits include “Cathy” in Jason Robert Brown’s The Last 5 Years, “Serena” in Fame the Musical and “Sophie” in Mamma Mia! She launched her second album, No Space for Air, at the Prince of Wales Theatre in June 2010. The album includes covers of Alanis Morrissette and Skunk Anansie as well as songs from the legendary theatre composer Stephen Sondheim. West End Stars Come Out for Concert |

Daniel Boys made his West End debut in Rent at the Prince of Wales Theatre. He was a finalist in the 2007 BBC search for a Joseph, Any Dream Will Do, leaving the series in week six. His other stage credits include West Side Story, I Love You Because, Wolfboy and Avenue Q. He starred opposite Julie Atherton in the lead parts of “Princeton” and “Rod” and won the 2009 Whatsonstage Award for Best Takeover in a Role. |

Former Coronation Street actor Richard Fleeshman is starring in Ghost the Musical at the Piccadilly Theatre, which opens next month after beginning previews this week on Friday 24th June 2011. He previously appeared in the West End as “Warner Huntington III” in Legally Blonde the Musical at the Savoy Theatre. A talented singer and musician, Fleeshman released his debut album, Neon, in 2007. He has supported Sir Elton John on several tours. |

Jon Lee rose to fame as a member of pop group S Club 7. As a teenager, he played the leading role in Oliver! at the London Palladium. His other stage credits include the role of “Marius” in Les Misérables at the Palace Theatre and Queens Theatre, and the alternate “Frankie Valli” in Jersey Boys at the Prince Edward Theatre, where he has been starring since March this year. |
Yes, Prime Minister at the Apollo TheatreOn its first West End run between 2010-11, Yes, Prime Minister collected the 2011 Whatsonstage Award for Best New Comedy. The show is back by popular demand and will play a limited season at the Apollo Theatre until Saturday 17th September 2011. Prime Minister Jim Hacker, Cabinet Secretary Sir Humphrey Appleby and his Principal Private Secretary Bernard Woolley face a country in financial meltdown, with the only prospect of salvation coming from morally dubious allies, leading to some hilariously comic consequences. Simon Williams plays shrewd civil servant "Sir Humphrey" whilst Richard McCabe is beleaguered Prime Minister "Jack Hacker". |
