Justin Lee Collins to return to Chicago?
Justin Lee Collins has revealed plans to quit television next year when his current deal with Channel Five comes to an end in autumn 2011. The 35 year old presenter and comedian would like to spend more time with his young family but may consider a return to the West End musical Chicago; a show he previously starred in as part of a reality TV series. |

A Memorable ExperienceIn 2008 Justin appeared as Amos Hart at the Cambridge Theatre, as part of a Sky1 series ‘Justin Collins Is…’ Vocal coaching saw Justin replace his West Country accent for a broad American twang. He also took a series of intense singing and dancing lessons, before taking to the stage for three memorable nights, which he later described as being one of the best experiences of his working life. The Chicago producers were so impressed with Justin’s performance that they offered him the chance to return for a full run – a minimum of eight shows a week for eight continuous weeks. Television commitments meant Justin wasn’t able to take up the offer, but with those out of the way the star told Heat magazine that he would love to reconsider: ‘I'd do it in a heartbeat - if the offer's still there at the end of next year, I'll do it’. |
A West End FanJustin also spoke about his love for some other West End shows: 'Jersey Boys is the best show I've ever seen in the West End. The other one I saw was Jason Donovan in Priscilla Queen of the Desert - it was brilliant. I would happily do either of those shows’. |
