May first spotted the talented Ms Ellis when she understudied for Martine McCutcheon in My Fair Lady, and snapped her up to appear in Queen musical We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre.

He has described the album as ‘a kind of Anthemic-Orchestral-Rock-Musical-Theatre-Fusion’, and Kerry Ellis as ‘a voice in a million – Kerry is the most exciting singer to emerge from England in a very long time.’

Ellis recently finished a two year stint as ‘Elphaba’ in Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. Prior to that, she won the Broadway.com Audience Award for Best Female Breakthrough Performance when she played the role at New York’s Gershwin Theatre.
