Sunday Telegraph gives 4 Star Rating

The limited run revival of The Secret of Sherlock Holmes has just 2 weeks left to run at the Duchess Theatre. The show, which recently was given 4 stars by the Sunday Telegraph, premiered in 1988. Jeremy Paul’s psychological thriller, based on the characters created by Arthur Conan Doyle, introduces the relationship between Holmes and Dr Watson before exploring a series of dark encounters with criminal mastermind, Professor Moriarty.

Dark Questions to Answer

After Holmes and his nemesis falls to their deaths at Reichenbach Falls, Watson tries to move on with his life. With a series of dark secrets slowly revealed, Watson can’t help questioning the fate of his friend. Starring Peter Egan and Robert Daws, the Victorian world of London and 221b Baker Street is impressively recreated by Designer Simon Higlett’s atmospheric set.

Peter Egan (Holmes) is fondly remembered for his role in the ‘80s sitcom Ever Decreasing Circles. On stage he recently appeared as the famous detective in a UK tour of The Hound of the Baskervilles. Robert Daws (Watson) has appeared on the screen in Jeeves and Wooster, and, more recently, ITV drama series The Royal. On stage he starred in Public Property at Trafalgar Studios last year
