Legally Blonde the Musical to Close in April!

Carley Stenson in Legally Blonde Legally Blonde the Musical has posted closing notices at the Savoy Theatre and will have its last performance on Saturday 7th April 2012, when the contracts of the principle actors finish. The production (which had been booking until October 2012) opened in December 2009 with Sheridan Smith winning universal acclaim for her outstanding performance as bubbly college sweetheart ‘Elle Woods’ - the role made famous by Reece Witherspoon on screen. The feel-good show never looked back and Smith went on to win a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Over 750,000 people have seen the musical to-date.

Former Hollyoaks star Carley Stenson has been playing ‘Elle’ since July 2011 and will continue to the final performance. She is joined by Stephen Ashfield as ‘Emmett’, Ben Freeman as ‘Warner’, Peter Davison as ‘Professor Callahan’ and Natalie Casey as ‘Paulette’. The current Legally Blonde the Musical UK Tour will continue through 2012 and plans are believed to be in place for an Australian production to open in Sydney later in the year. Legally Blonde the Musical is directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell with music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin.

Legally Blonde the Musical is the brilliant comedy that proves staying true to who you are never goes out of style! Homecoming queen Elle Woods doesn't take no for an answer.
