Love Never Dies delayed until 2010?

It looks like the West End, and indeed the rest of the world, will have to wait a bit longer for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s highly anticipated Phantom sequel Love Never Dies. It has been reported that the worldwide opening of the mysterious show has been pushed back to 2010.

Ever since Andrew Lloyd Webber first mentioned the project in a video blog over two years ago, Love Never Dies has been shrouded in mystery as no formal announcements have ever been made regarding it. Its name has changed a number of times, and the title Love Never Dies seems pretty much set in stone as it lends itself to the show’s official website. However, even the website itself is nothing less than enigmatic, consisting entirely of an abstract flash design that shows Twitter posts mentioning The Phantom of the Opera as and when they are written.
Vague snippets of information from Lloyd Webber himself and various rumours pointed towards an autumn premiere. It was widely assumed that the show would take the Adelphi Theatre as no show has been confirmed for the venue when Derren Brown’s limited season ends in July. As numerous, and often contradictory, theories and rumours abounded, the idea somehow developed that an official announcement would be made on 7 May, and that tickets would be on sale shortly afterwards. Many people waited for the launch with baited breath but, of course, nothing happened.
