One Year On And Still Fabulous

Posted by Joseph on Wednesday 17th March 2010 at 3:08PM

Priscilla Queen Of The Desert has been entertaining audiences in the West End for nearly a year and recently welcomed some new cast members.

New Cast

The fabulous show has been a constant sell out hit the last year, wowing audiences with its music, comedy, colour and glitter. Winning four ‘Whets On Stage Awards’ recently and with new cast members, the show shows no signs of stopping. UKTickets was recently invited along to see the new cast members perform.

The role of Bernadette, the main character that holds everything together, up until now has been played by the sensational Tony Sheldon who has given up the role and handed the wig to Don Gallagher. Gallagher fits the role excellently, grasping the essence of Bernadette’s comical character, sensitive nature and throughout glamour. John Bowe now plays the noble mechanic Bob, who in our opinion is better than the previous, Clive Carter.

Thornton & Donovan

Oliver Thornton and Jason Donovan resume their roles as Adam and Tick. Donovan, panned by many in the beginning, has grown into the role beautifully giving an outstanding performance. Thornton, who picked up one of the four ‘What’s On Stage Awards’, continues to amaze audiences with his fabulous vocals and stunning physique

The Show

The show tells the heart-warming and uplifting story of Mitzi, Bernadette and Felicia, a glamorous Sydney based performing trio who agree to take their show to the middle of the Australian outback. The three friends set off in a battered old bus, Priscilla, in search of love and adventure, but end up finding more than they could ever have dreamed.

Full of outrageous comedy, outfits and fun, this is one show that will have you dancing in the aisles.
