Priscilla Stops at Summer Bay for Alf Stewart
Australian soap star Ray Meagher, best known for playing Alf Stewart, will join the cast of Priscilla Queen of the Desert at the Palace Theatre from 30 September. Meagher will play friendly mechanic Bob, joining current cast leads Don Gallagher, Ben Richards and Oliver Thornton. |
Ray Meagher
Meagher has a film and television career spanning more than 35 years, with 22 of the years spent at Summer Bay in the popular Australian soap Home & Away. His screen credits also include ‘A Country Practice and Prisoner: Cell Block H’. Meagher’s previous UK stage experience includes a number of pantomimes. Priscilla, based on the Oscar-winning film, has been a film favourite in the West End since it opened in 2009, with more glitter, wigs, high heels and lipstick than you can shake a stick at. Featuring 25 disco classics, outrageous comedy and outfits, Priscilla is a ‘Huge antidote to the doom and gloom of the recession'. | ![]() |
