Rock of Ages Movie Films Concert Scenes

Production of the Rock of Ages movie, which began earlier this summer, continues to gather momentum after leading stars Tom Cruise (Stacee Jaxx), Julianne Hough (Sherrie Christian) and Diego Boneta (Drew Boley) filmed live concert scenes at the Sun Life Stadium, Miami, in front of 1,000 ecstatic fans. The Florida city is being used as a double for the story’s Los Angeles setting, and members of the public were invited down to the home of the Miami Dolphins to appear as extras as Cruise and the cast tore through some classic hair metal numbers, including Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin! and Bon Jovi’s Dead or Alive. |

Rock of Ages will open at the Shaftesbury Theatre on Tuesday 27th September 2011, following previews from Wednesday 31st August 2011. Justin Lee Collins stars as ‘Dennis Dupree’, with X-Factor Winner Shayne Ward taking the role of ‘Stacee Jaxx’. They are joined by former-Wicked cast member Oliver Tompsett as “Drew” and ex-Jersey Boys star Amy Pemberton as “Sherrie”. The show features over 20 glam-rock classics from bands such as Bon Jovi, Poison and Whitesnake. Scorching songs include: Sister Christian, Come on Feel the Noize, Hit Me With Your Best Shot, Don’t Stop Believin’, Dead or Alive, We Built This City, I Wanna Know What Love Is and The Final Countdown. |
Spinal Tap Meets Rocky HorrorSet in Los Angeles in 1987, Rock of Ages follows the story of a lowly Sunset Strip busboy named Drew Boley who dreams of becoming a successful rock star. He falls for the beautiful Bourbon Room waitress Sherrie, who has come to LA seeking fame as an actress.
