Shrek the Musical: Casting Confirmed
Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden will return to the West End next year as Princess Fiona in the eagerly anticipated musical adaptation of Shrek. Amanda, whose last West End appearance came in 2003’s Thoroughly Modern Millie (for which she received an Olivier Award nomination for her performance in the title role), will appear opposite comedian Richard Blackwood who takes the role of Donkey. The show is due to open at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in the summer of 2011. |

West End Reunion for StarsShrek the Musical will see Amanda Holden reunited with Thoroughly Modern Millie director and choreographer Rob Ashford. The show will also feature direction from Avenue Q’s Jason Moore. Versatile performer Richard Blackwood will return to the West End after appearing opposite James Earl Jones and Adrian Lester in the recent revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Novello Theatre. |

Meanwhile, feisty Princess Fiona is trapped in a tower awaiting rescue from a handsome prince. |
