Charlotte Church, Sheila Hancock and John Partridge have all signed up to sit in the judging seats for the now confirmed Over The Rainbow.

Over The Rainbow

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new reality TV show, Over The Rainbow, will search to find Dorothy for the brand new musical version of The Wizard Of Oz. Each week the public will vote to decide who deserves to make friends with the legendary Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion as they journey to the Emerald City. The new line up replaces Denise Van Outen and John Barrowman. Graham Norton will return as host for the Saturday night show, which will air on BBC One in the spring.

The Panel

Charlotte Church, who rose to fame through classical music and later pop, is thrilled to be working with Webber.

"I'm so looking forward to working with Andrew - he's an icon of the music industry, and a real hero of mine… My career started with Pie Jesu, which was of course written by Andrew, so it feels like I've come full circle."

Current Mother Superior in Sister Act Sheila Hancock will put down her habit to join the line up. On getting the position Hancock comments "I've had such an interesting and varied career and I'm so looking forward to working with the panel and Andrew to seek out some fantastic new talent."

Ex-Eastender John Partridge will also join the trio, his stage credits inclued Webber's production of Cats and Starlight Express, along with Miss Saigon, Grease and Rent.

Previous Shows

The new show follows on from its successful predecessors, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?, Any Dream Will Do and  I’d Do Anything. The shows launched the careers of Connie Fisher, Lee Mead (Starring in Wicked from May) and Jodie Prenger (Starring in Oliver!). The search is already well under way, with auditions being held in cities across the UK.

Wicked

Whilst you wait for the new show to open, why not book to see the West End smash Wicked, spellbinding audiences since 2006. Wicked, hailed as the prequel to The Wizard Of Oz, tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz and how one came to be called ‘good; and the other ‘wicked’. BOOK NOW
