Thriller Live: Jackson Three announced

Posted by Jack on Friday 5th December 2008 at 3:06PM

A former Billy Elliot and a young Simba will be playing the young Michael Jackson in the upcoming Thriller Live at the Lyric Theatre. In true Billy Elliot and Lion King style, Thriller Live will alternate its three youngest performers.

Layton Williams was the first black Billy Elliot and became the second longest running London Billy after Leon Cooke. This year, he took some time off the role to film Beautiful People, the ITV comedy series in which his performance as Kylie was critically acclaimed. He hung up his ballet shoes for the last time last week.
Sterling Williams made his West End debut as one of four young performers playing the young Simba in The Lion King and has also appeared in small roles in a number of commercials, TV dramas and the film It’s All Gone Pete Tong.
Kieron Alleyne has been plucked for stardom through open auditions held at the Lyric last month. His only stage experience so far has been a Michael Jackson tribute at his school in Leicester in which he played Jacko himself. Sounds like our two pros could learn a thing or two from the young pretender.
Performances of Thriller Live, the spectacular celebration of the works of Michael Jackson, will begin at the Lyric theatre on 2 January 2009 and tickets are available here.
