New Year and Christmas are well and truly over and what better way to fight the winter blues than to see one of the many fantastic plays currently performing in the West End.

The Little Dog Laughed

Starring Rupert Friend (Young Victoria, Pride and Prejudice) and Gemma Arterton (Bond and St. Trinian’s girl) this modern day comedy tells the story of Mitchell, an actor on the brink of Hollywood stardom, thanks to his devilish agent Diane (Tamsin Greig). Diane has her work cut out as she can’t seem to stop her leading man from coming out of the closet. This laugh a minute play is a must see for all West End play lovers and theatregoers that would like to try plays for the first time.

Currently playing at the Garrick Theatre until the 10th April, book your tickets here.

Enron

Enron, Lucy Prebble’s gripping new drama based on the accounting scandal of the American energy giant. Enron, the name synonymous with corporate failure, is a play that sheds fresh light on the notorious bankruptcy and financial turmoil following the boom years of the 1990s. It transfers to the Noel Coward Theatre in May 2010 on the back of a sold-out season at the Royal Court.

Waiting For Godgot

Waiting for Godot is returning after a sell out season at the Haymarket earlier this year, with Ian McKellen and Ronald Pickup reprising their roles and new cast members Roger Rees and Matthew Kelly. The play tells the story of two tramps Vladimir (Rees) and Estrago (McKellan) who meet to converse, joke and argue with themselves as they wait through one day and then another for the mysterious Godot. The combination of music hall, poetry and tension redefine what is possible in theatre, so that today Waiting for Godot is accepted as one of the most significant plays of the 20th century.

Guaranteed to be a sell out, booking at the Theatre Royal Haymarket until the 3rd April, book your tickets here

War Horse

Based on Michael Morgurgo’s 1982 children’s novel, War Horse is the story of Joey, a horse belonging to a young boy called Albert, who is sold to the cavalry during the first World War. His adventure sees him fight on both sides before he eventually finds himself alone in no man’s land. Albert, unable and unwilling to forget his beloved horse and too young to join up, sets out on a dangerous mission to find Joey and bring him home.

After a sell out season at the National Theatre in 2007 the play transferred to the New London Theatre in 2008, still reciveing rave reviews and sell out shows night after night.
