Disney bosses were celebrating last week after Toy Story 3 overtook Mamma Mia! to become one of the highest-grossing movies in UK history.

The animated film, starring Tom Hanks as cowboy ‘Woody’, has now taken over £70 million at the box office, second only to James Cameron’s 3D summer hit Avatar.  The sci-fi blockbuster was re-released last month with an additional nine minutes of footage, and has taken a staggering £93.4 million in the UK to date.

Mamma Mia! and Titanic (another James Cameron picture) are now numbers three and four on the all-time UK box office list, with takings of £69.2 million and £69.03 million respectively.
